Hi Art,
thanks for the info. I too had the 'set up a museum' bug but came to believe that computer museums and museums in general are well on their way out.

One idea (for a museum) that I had came from an article about a PDP-8 emulated in an Arduino 2560:

The thing runs FOCAL, and was pretty cool. But I thought about setting up an on-line museum on a PC with a multiple-port USB hub. Each antique computer (or emulator, like the Arduino PDP) would hook to the hub through a USB to serial convertor. Then you could set up several "users" for the museum PC, and set up the user so that they would automatically run a serial terminal (like MiniCom) directly to that USB port and to that antique computer. That way, you could just remote in via "ssh pdp-8@museum.net" or something, and would end up directly connected to that "PDP-8" or whatever user you used to log in.

I am perpetually annoyed with museums that have documentation/hardware/software yet they refuse to scan/photograph/copy and share. Actually the living computer museum in seattle was in this category--- absolutely worthless when it came to sharing information.

Yes, that is a pet peeve of mine also. The Computer History Museum (https://computerhistory.org/) is irritating for that - "hah! we have this exhibit, but you cannot have any info about it!"

So if you want to offer any of the boards along with your educational kits, feel free to sell them.

Unfortunately, due to the way that I retired (medical, on disability) I am not allowed to earn any money, or I may loose my retirement pay. I'm making enough that I don't really need to earn any more income any way, so it's not bad.

If he actually answers, I will pass on your address to him.
